Next priority for INEOS at Manchester United decided after Omar Berrada appointment coup

Changes behind the scenes at Manchester United are continuing after investment from INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe was rubber-stamped. That deal remains subject to Premier League ratification, but Ratcliffe has started to make his mark already with INEOS Group soon-to-be responsible for footballing operations.

Before the 71-year-old even stepped into their boardroom in an official capacity, there was a major coup confirmed with Omar Berrada joining United as the club's new chief executive. The highly-regarded Spaniard resigned from his post at treble-winning neighbours Manchester City to take up that position.

United had been on the search for a CEO since Richard Arnold chose to step down before the 25 per cent minority takeover headed-up by Ratcliffe was finalised. An elite sporting director has to come in so they can set out their stall and start to collaborate with Ten Hag.
