Newcastle 'will listen to offers' for £38k-p/w star at St James' Park

Newcastle United will listen to offers for winger Allan Saint-Maximin this summer, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Frenchman has a contract up until 2026, which is believed to be worth around £38,000 a week, but Jones has suggested that he will not see it out.

Saint-Maximin has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons recently, giving an interview to French magazine So Foot that did not go down well.

In it, the 25-year-old claimed that he has no reason to be jealous of Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, while he also suggested that his assist numbers will go up to 10-15 a season once he is playing alongside a capable finisher.

Since that interview with So Foot, Saint-Maximin has put it out there that his quotes have been taken out of context.

However, manager Eddie Howe still didn’t seem to be too pleased with his player’s comments, with The Telegraph claiming that Saint-Maximin was forced to apologise in front of the squad.

While they play on opposite flanks, in terms of flair and skill, one player who could replace Saint-Maximin if he does end up leaving Newcastle this summer is Watford’s Ismaila Sarr.

According to FootballTransfers, the Magpies have been offered the chance to sign the Senegal international from the Hornets, who were recently relegated from the Premier
