Newcastle United sent urgent transfer message about Leicester City star

Newcastle United fans have shared mixed opinions over their club's reported interest in signing Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.

The Foxes star has been widely tipped to move on this summer, having entered the final 12 months of his current deal. A host of potential suitors have been linked with the Belgium international, including Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham and now the Magpies.

Although no formal approach has been made by any of the clubs, Newcastle are said to be considering a bid for Tielemans, though the lack of European football could prove a stumbling block. The player has made it clear he wants to play at a top level but is in no rush to make a decision on his immediate future.

"You have to stay calm. I'm fine where I am, I still have a year of contract," he previously said. "I'm not in a hurry at all. When you change clubs, you don't change to change. You change because there is a great project on the table. For a football player, the most important thing is to play. It will be up to me to take the right decision regarding my future this summer."

With that in mind, here is what some Newcastle fans had to say about the latest reports...

"I'd risk a punt on him because of his PL experience alone but there are other better players we could get with no PL experience who might take a long time to settle or they might crumble. Thankfully, Eddie eased Bruno in well so if we could afford Paqueta, I'd trust him to do the same he did with Bruno."

"Give em £12m and Willock along with Shelvey."

"It's unlikely this."

"Tielemans is bad news. Howe would not want someone to upset the applecart he has worked so hard to maintain."

"Good player but if we're going big on a midfielder let's get Paqueta."
