Newcastle United fans' January transfer window verdict as owners given huge seal of approval

Newcastle United were one of the busiest clubs in the Premier League during last month’s January transfer window.

The Magpies spent just short of £100 million on five new players as the owners got straight to work on improving the side in their first window in charge.

Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Bruno Guimaraes, Matt Targett and Dan Burn are the five arrivals into Eddie Howe’s squad, who will now be hoping he has enough at his disposal to keep Newcastle in the division.

Fans rated the window as a whole as 8.15 out of 10, while the owners also received a big seal of approval with an average rating of 8.63.

With ratings of 9.23 and 9.07 respectively, Trippier and Guimaraes were voted as the most exciting signings.

Targett and Burn both received very similar ratings of 7.47 and 7.44, while Wood was named as the least exciting of the additions with a still respectable 6.51.

53% of supporters think Henderson would’ve been a good signing, and while that is just about the majority, that means 47% don’t think he was needed.

Jesse Lingard, Sven Botman, Hugo Ekitike, Diego Carlos and Dele Alli were five other names the Magpies were reportedly keen on.

Just shy of 50% of supporters would choose Lingard if they could add one more name to the list of signings, with Lille centre back Botman the next closest with 21.8%.

In the final question of the survey, fans were asked who they believe is the most important signing
