Newcastle told to avoid Jesse Lingard move due to 'off the field' behaviour

Jesse Lingard has been linked with Newcastle for a while and rumours still circulate that the 29-year-old Englishman could arrive this summer.

With Lingard being back to his best many teams are after him, but ex Newcastle left back Jose Enrique says he wouldn't have him at Newcastle despite him being a great player.

“Jesse Lingard, I like him but his off the field is what I don’t like too much, so I’m not sure about that." he told BettingExpert. "But definitely, quality-wise, he’s a very good player.”

Lingard regularly played for Manchester United but didn't prosper until the 2015/16 season where he started to reach his potential. The next two seasons he continued to grow in confidence. His clothing line JLingz was released in 2018.

A successful spell at West Ham reinvigorated his career, which leaves Enrique saying: "He’s a good player and he did well at West Ham when he was there. I think he can do well, he’s a player with a lot of qualities.”
