Newcastle produce second half blitz to see off sorry Southampton
NEWCASTLE: Newcastle United overcame a poor first half display against Southampton to take all three Premier League points at St. James’ Park on Sunday.
A brace from Callum Wilson and a Theo Walcott own goal were enough to see off the relegation-threatened Saints, who had gone in at the break a goal up thanks to a Stuart Armstrong strike four minutes before half-time.
The result saw the Magpies go 11 points clear of Tottenham Hotspur in fifth, who kicked off later on Sunday against Liverpool at Anfield.
