Newcastle pondering big-money double Inter raid for Hakan Calhanoglu and fresh Man Utd target
Newcastle United are reportedly pondering over making a double bid to land Inter Milan duo Hakan Calhanoglu and Denzel Dumfries this summer.
Having been taken over by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund in late 2021, the St James’ Park outfit splashed the cash in January to help their survival bid but are expected to go bigger this summer to bolster Eddie Howe’s squad.
They have already been linked with Lille centre-half Sven Botman as well as Stade Reims forward Hugo Ekitike.
However, Italian outlet Calciomercato claims the Magpies are also interested in Inter’s Calhanoglu and Dumfries.
Indeed, the report states that Newcastle are willing to spend a combined £51m for the pair.
Dumfries is currently being strongly tipped to join Manchester United, who are reportedly looking to offload fellow right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
