Newcastle learn price of powerful Arsenal target Gianluca Scamacca, who Fabrizio Romano insists will leave
Newcastle and both Milan clubs are ‘on the trail’ of Arsenal target Gianluca Scamacca after a trusted source recently insisted he’ll move this summer.
The Sassuolo striker, 23, is one of the most physically imposing strikers Serie A has to offer. Standing at 6ft 5in tall, Scamacca has proved more than a match for most centre-halves.
Scamacca bagged 12 goals in 29 matches across all competitions while on loan with Genoa last year.
That saw him retained by Sassuolo for the current campaign where his league tally currently sits at 13.
The centre-forward made his debut for Italy in 2021 and has since accrued three caps. Clearly, Scamacca is a forward on the up in his homeland.
However, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, it may soon be time to spread his wings.
“Yes, yes, he will leave Sassuolo,” Romano recently said of Scamacca’s future to Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE YouTube channel.
“He extended the contract a few days ago but he will leave Sassuolo.
“It was an extension to allow a potential loan with obligation to buy clause”

An Italian report then put both Milan clubs in the frame for his signature this summer. A £34m fee could be enough to seal a deal, though Arsenal were reported to have knocked on Sassuolo’s door too.
