Newcastle "interested" in £125m Premier League trio at St James' Park

Newcastle United are interested in signing three Premier League attackers this summer including Leicester City’s Harvey Barnes and Leeds United’s Jack Harrison, according to Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie

Eddie Howe is looking shape a side that can push further up the table during the 2022-23 campaign and has just over a month left to strengthen at St James’ Park. 

After completing three permanent deals this summer, in the form of Sven Botman, Nick Pope and Matt Targett, Newcastle have turned their attentions to the final third. 

It appears the club are eager to strengthen their front line and three Premier League wingers have been identified as targets in that mission. 

Leicester City ace Harvey Barnes is admired in the North East but the Foxes are set to demand around £50 million for their academy graduate’s signature this summer. 

Elsewhere, Jack Harrison is being monitored although Leeds will not let him go cheap either. Having already sold Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha this summer, they will apparently not entertain offers below £35 million for their winger, having previously had an £18 million approach rejected.

Another rising star also caught the eye on Merseyside last season in the form of Antony Gordon, but Everton will need to be paid at least £40 million to consider a sale this summer according to journalist Alan Nixon, via TEAMtalk.

Downie understands that while Newcastle are keen to sign attacking reinforcements this summer, they will only do so if they are the right fit for the club. 

But when asked about their interest in the three wingers, the Sky Sports reported confirmed that they were on the club’s radar.
