Newcastle 'in conversation' to bring 'Saint-Maximin upgrade' to St James' Park

Newcastle will be in the conversation to sign Watford winger Ismaila Sarr this summer, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The £26m-rated attacker could leave the Hornets following their relegation to the Championship and the Toon Army are one of several Premier League sides being linked with his services.

Newcastle have been keen on signing Sarr since their takeover was completed in October and while they missed out on his signature in January, the Magpies remain interested ahead of the summer.

According to The Sun, the 24-year-old, who has scored five goals and added two assists for Watford this season, is still a target for Eddie Howe ahead of the window reopening for business next month.

Sarr has missed much of this season through injury, although he’s continued to prove himself at this level, with only Emmanuel Dennis (10) outscoring him in the Watford squad, despite playing just 22 times in the top-flight.

“We will have to wait and see what his fee levels out at this point, but I think there will be a lot of top teams going for Sarr in the summer, and Newcastle will be in that conversation.”
