Newcastle eye multiple dream signings to create new spine including Harry Kane - Exclusive

Newcastle United will attempt to give the team a new spine if they win their fight for survival – with Harry Kane, Dean Henderson and John Stones all viewed as dream signings.

A strategy is being devised behind the scenes on how they attack the summer transfer window and recent form has given everyone inside the club increased hope of being able to pursue names at top clubs.

Newcastle believe they should raise the bar as high as possible in terms of potential signings in an attempt to sell their dream of breaking into the elite – and hope the early signs from Eddie Howe’s reign will help with the vision.

Tottenham and England captain Kane seems an unlikely signing at surface level yet it is understood that some figures at Newcastle believe they have nothing to lose by at least trying to get him.

It goes without saying a list of options will be drawn up outside of Kane, and Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin would fit the bill as another top English forward. They will assess the situation at the end of the season when scenarios around both players become more clear.

Thomas Muller of Bayern Munich is also on the radar to bring top-level experience. He’s scored 226 goals for the German giants, and is on course for an eleventh Bundesliga title this season.
