New Vale of Leven U20s coach Graeme Ramage on pathway to senior football

New Vale of Leven U20s boss Graeme Ramage is aiming to ensure the club’s thriving academy can continue to produce first team stars of the future.

Former St Mirren and Dumbarton player Graeme was appointed as the Vale’s new U20s manager earlier this summer, and says that the focus will be on development in the fiercely competitive West of Scotland Development League.

Graeme, who will work alongside Dominic Donaldson, Graeme McKenzie and Connor Beggs in the role, told the Lennox: “I want to help boys to realise how good they could actually be and make sure they do get a crack at it.

“I want to help them on the park, but off the pitch as well. That’s really important to all of us.

“We had a meeting with the boys and got across that this is a development league.

“He’s had offers to go elsewhere, but he enjoys being at the Vale.

“It’s a good place to be. They are working on other things to try and develop the club which makes it an exciting time for the club.”

Vale born Graeme, who runs a successful football academy locally, spent time last season coaching at Dumbarton, but said that he jumped at the chance to move up to management at Millburn.

He continued: “I helped out a bit with Dumbarton last season, but decided to step away from that and have a think about what I wanted to do.

“A month or so after that
