New signings set to miss Hull City's final two pre-season outings

New Hull City signings Dogukan Sinik and Benjamin Tetteh are unlikely to be involved this weekend when Shota Arveladze splits his squad for games against Cambridge United and Peterborough United on Saturday.

Sinik's arrival was confirmed on Wednesday ahead of the 4-0 friendly loss to Leicester City, while Tetteh was at the MKM Stadium having agreed a two-year contract plus the option of a third, although the club are yet to officially announce the signing of Tetteh.

Though both Sinik and Tetteh have been working hard to keep fit throughout pre-season, they've only joined the Tigers' group this week and Arveladze admits they are a little way away from being ready to challenge for a place in City's starting XI.

Another absentee from the double-header away day will be goalkeeper Nathan Baxter, as he continues to nurse a finger injury picked up last week at the club's training camp in Marbella.

Baxter missed the win over Malaga, as well as the Foxes defeat, but will hope to be fit for the season opener next Saturday when Bristol City arrive in East Yorkshire to kick the campaign off.

"I think it will be too early for them to be with the team because they've missed five weeks of training and will not be ready for the game, they've just started," the Georgian boss told Hull Live.

On Baxter, Arveladze added: "He's not fit to play. I don't know yet (how long he will be out for)."

City, who arrived back from their 10-day trip to Turkiye and Spain on Sunday night, saw new signings Tobias Figueiredo, Jean Michael Seri, Ozan Tufan, Allahyar and Oscar all feature, and Arveladze expects them to get stronger over the weekend with games against Cambridge United and Peterborough United.
