New Manchester United wonderkid signing shows true colours as perfect Paul Scholes example set

New Manchester United signing Sekou Kone chose to spend his Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford watching United Legends take on Celtic Legends. The special one-off charity encounter took place on the weekend of the September international break with a number of big names in action.

Lining up for United were the likes of Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick with the latter duo both now Championship managers at Plymouth Argyle and Middlesbrough, respectively. Rooney had put the Reds ahead with a stunning free-kick before Gary Hooper equalised.

Celtic ultimately won the game on penalties but the match was for a great cause and it certainly allowed United supporters, both in attendance and following along at home, to reminisce.

Alongside Rooney's wondergoal, Carrick and Scholes looked as though they had not lost a step with the duo both putting in strong midfield displays. For one specific person watching on, that was likely a sight to behold as he attempts to emulate their careers in Manchester.

In the summer transfer window, alongside the arrivals of Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte, the Reds welcomed 18-year-old defensive midfielder Kone from Malian club Guidars FC.
