New Look reduces £28 bag to £21 hailed 'almost identical' to designer £2,000 YSL version

New Look shoppers are rushing out to buy a head-turning bag that resembles a much pricier version from a designer label. The fashion-forward high street retailer is known for offering trendy pieces that look like those seen on the recent catwalks and the Tan Borg Trim Link Hobo Bag is no exception.

While not 100% identical, the Tan Borg Trim Link Hobo Bag shares strikingly similarities to an offering from YSL. The small Le 5 à 7 suede shoulder bag has a hefty price tag of £2,085 while the New Look version costs a fraction, on sale for £20.99 down from £27.99.

Both bags feature a chic suede effect complemented by a shearling trim, elegant gold hardware, a convenient adjustable strap, and a practical magnetic closure. The New Look bag and YSL offering look visually the same but the materials do differ slightly - the £2,000 model is crafted from genuine leather while the £20 piece is fashioned from a vegan-friendly material.

The design elements continue to echo each other with gold link detailing at the front, though the YSL boasts its unmistakable logo as an added luxe touch. Size-wise, the high street version inches ahead, offering a bit more room than its designer counterpart, as Liverpool Echo mentions.
