New Livingston signing determined to make up for lost time as club set for SWPL2 debut

It didn't take Shannon Todd long to know she wanted to be part of Livingston's SWPL2 journey.

And, given she's only relatively recently recovered from a knee injury that kept her out of action for the best part of 18 months, she's determined to make up for lost time and savour every moment of the Lionesses' second tier debut season.

A summer arrival from Boroughmuir Thistle, it took Todd all of one training session to determine she wanted to sign on the dotted line for Livi and she's delighted she was given the chance. After a decent pre-season, it's now on to the real thing as the club make the SWPL2 bow on Sunday at home to Kilmarnock.

And Todd can't wait. Speaking to the West Lothian Courier, she said: "It's been a really good five or six weeks of pre-season training but we're all ready now for the competitive games to start. It's a really exciting day for the club, to be playing their first game at this level, and to do that at home makes it that bit more special.

"I wasn't really sure where I was going to be playing this year but I dropped Mike (Ross, manager) a message and he actually got back saying he was going to get in touch with me and invite me down to training. Honestly, by the end of the first session I knew that I wanted to sign and it was an easy decision to make when Mike offered me a deal.

"The set-up is amazing and I was treated so well as soon as I walked in the door by everyone. I know Mike from our time together at Boroughmuir and there's a couple of ex team-mates already at the club that I spoke to but they didn't need to convince me at all. I was delighted to sign."

She added: "I got back to fitness in January but I'd been out for around 18 months and it took a while to get going again. I played
