New dates set for two Newcastle United fixtures after May TV picks announcement

New dates have been set for two of Newcastle United's final matches of the season following the Premier League's announcement on the TV picks for May. The Magpies clashes with Manchester City and Arsenal have been selected for live coverage on Sky Sports, and have both been rescheduled to new dates.

Eddie Howe's side now face three home fixtures on the back of a bruising away run which culminated in a heavy defeat at Tottenham on Sunday. The Magpies will be hoping to put points on the board from clashes with Wolves, Leicester City and Crystal Palace ahead of a testing end to the season.

Newcastle are still to travel to relegation rivals Norwich City and Burnley, and prior to a final-day visit to Turf Moor face three tricky fixtures which could have ramifications in the race for the Premier League title and a top-four finish. The first of these is a home encounter with Liverpool on April 30, which will be broadcast live on BT Sport.

Next up for Howe's side is a daunting trip to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City. The clash with Pep Guardiola's side had been scheduled for May 7, but will now take place a day later with a 4.30pm kick-off.

Newcastle's final home match of the season has also been rescheduled in the latest announcement. Arsenal are the final visitors to St James' Park this season, and the Gunners will now travel to Tyneside for a Monday night 8pm kick-off on May 16.
