Netherlands vs Scotland LIVE as Lawrence Shankland starts in Amsterdam

A trip to Amsterdam can often distort reality but Steve Clarke and Scotland should have a clearer picture of where how they are fixed for Euro 2024 by the end of the evening.

And while the thousands of Tartan Army foot soldiers will no doubt return from their trip to the Netherlands a bit worse for wear, Clarke will be hoping he doesn't have any headaches to contend with.

That could come in the shape of a potential heavy defeat to one of the continent's big guns - or any any injuries to key players in the friendly encounter.

It's not unusual for visitors to experiment in the liberal city of Amsterdam and Clarke admitted he might try out a few new things with his team which has left the Scotland fans guessing as to why he might have in store with his line-up.

You know what you will get with the men in orange - a star-studded XI regardless of who Ronald Koeman goes for. Can Scotland cope? Find out right here in our LIVE blog.

Steve Clarke has 23 players to choose from for the two friendlies next month - and he's promised to use as many of them as he can.

The boss picked an initial 25-player group but Grant Hanley and Scott McKenna's injuries mean he's down to 23 - the same size of group he will take to Germany in June.

One of his four goalkeepers, Angus Gunn, Zander Clark, Liam Kelly or the returning Craig Gordon will be cut from that and Callum McGregor will be hoping to be fit in time to snatch a spot.

But Clarke, speaking to Viaplay ahead of the game, says he plans to try and use all of his players, if he can, to get a look at everyone in a match setting. And that could mean a situation where each of his shotstopping quartet are given 45 minutes of match action.

The game coming up is just to get the team back on
