Netflix Fool Me Once creator is bringing out a new mystery thriller on Amazon Prime on March 1

The writer of Netflix's Fool Me Once has a new mystery series coming to Amazon Prime, and the trailer and release date have just been revealed. Premiering next month, Dead Hot is a new comedy-thriller about two friends investigating the strange disappearance of a loved one.

It is created and written by Charlotte Coben – the daughter of master mystery author Harlan Coben – whose writing and producer credits include hit Netflix shows Fool Me Once, Stay Close and The Stranger. The six-part series was filmed in and around Liverpool and the North West and is billed as a “compelling and twisty character-driven comedy-thriller” which explores family, class, love, trauma, and identity.

The Liverpool-set series follows Elliot (Bilal Hasna) and Jess (Vivian Oparah), who are best friends united by their grief over losing Peter – Elliot's boyfriend and Jess' twin brother. It's been five years since Peter disappeared under mysterious circumstances and his friends are still trying to cope with the loss.

They party to forget their pain but hold onto the hope that they'll one day find out what happened to Peter, but when Elliot meets Will (Marcus Hodson), he starts to believe he can leave his past behind. When Elliot finds out Will has some dark secrets of his own and Jess gets a message from someone saying they're her brother, the two decide to find out if Elliot is romantically cursed or being targeted.

Dead Hot will be streaming exclusively on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland from Friday, March 1. You can
