Netflix finally releases first look trailer of highly-anticipated second season of fan-favourite show

Netflix has just dropped a tantalising first-look teaser for the eagerly anticipated second season of its hit political thriller, The Diplomat.

The show follows Keri Russell as Kate Wyler, the newly appointed US ambassador to the UK, who finds herself embroiled in an international crisis while adjusting to life in the public eye.

The brief teaser has given fans a glimpse of what's in store, and it seems the upcoming season promises to be a thrilling ride.

In the clip, we see Kate elegantly exiting a car and entering a high-profile event, locking eyes with none other than the Vice President of the United States, played by Alison Janney.

The teaser has sparked a wave of excitement among fans, who have taken to YouTube's comments section to share their anticipation for the show's return, reports the Mirror.

One viewer exclaimed: "Finally back! the last scene of the season finale is so intriguing, and this trailer for the second season.. damnnn! I'm looking forward to seeing how this unfolds."

Another eagerly wrote: "It's about time! Ive been checking every month! Also do not break it up into parts. Please and thanks!"

A third fan said: "Omgggg I forgot about this show! So glad season 2 is coming back." (sic).

And a fourth shared their reaction: "That trailer gave me goose bumps! Looking forward to season 2!"

The Diplomat made its debut on Netflix in April 2023 and was swiftly renewed for a second season just one month later.

Sky has brought back its viral free trial, meaning you can bag a Netflix subscription and Sky Stream for £0 for the first month, offering customers a saving of £31.

This means members can enjoy binge-worthy shows like House of the Dragon, The Walking Dead and Bridgerton without paying a penny.
