Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd told 'stop' as he shares adorable childhood snap amid milstone

Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has melted the hearts of his co-stars and his fans as he shared a childhood snap as he hurtles towards a major milestone.

It'll soon be 25 years since the actor first stepped foot on the cobbles as David Platt. However, there was a decade when the troublesome son of matriarch Gail Platt was played by another actor.

Born on Christmas Day 1990, David was originally portrayed by Thomas Ormson in the ITV soap until 2000. The same year, Jack was recast in the role at 12 years old and he has since gone on to play a part in the soap's biggest storylines.

Viewers have seen David torment his own family, including pushing his mum downstairs, face a stint in prison, go through a heartbreaking rape ordeal and tragically watching his wife Kylie die in his arms. Nowadays, David is trying to be a good husband to wife Shona and keep kids Max and Lily on the straight and narrow.

But Jack, from Pudsey in West Yorkshire, has now taken fans back to the time before he first appeared in Corrie and countless other TV shows such as Where the Heart Is and Cutting It.

Taking to Instagram, he shared an adorable school photo of himself which he simply captioned: "Age 8." His Corrie co-star Julia Goulding was quick to respond to the post, writing: "Stop it! Lil’ cutie," while former soap star Catherine Tyldesley echoed: "Omg stop."

The soap star's fans and followers were also keen to respond. @bannlulu said: "Awww, such a little cutie!" @noyahluvss commented: "You were a cutie." @xx.tinaobrienfan.xx wrote: "Awww this is so cute
