Netflix fans left disturbed by ‘nauseating’ new horror film that stuck with them ‘for weeks’

Netflix fans have been left disturbed by a “nauseating” new horror that stuck with them “for weeks”. The Polish film Hellhole was released in October 2022 and is just being discovered by horror fans.

The creepy flick is directed by Bartosz M. Kowalski, who has been making a name for himself since helming the 2020 slasher Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight. Set in 1987, Hellhole follows a police officer who infiltrates a remote monastery to investigate mysterious disappearances.

While there he soon discovers a dark truth about its clergy. The film was well received on its release, currently boasting a 77 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Particular praise has been attributed to the film’s visuals, the performances of its cast and the twists and turns of its unpredictable plot. Many viewers have taken to social media to recommend the film to other horror fans, while others have shared their reactions.

Some have been left so disturbed by the unnerving film since it dropped on Netflix they said it stuck with them for weeks after viewing. Taking to Twitter, @SugarTarantula said: “I just finished Hellhole on Netflix and I’m sitting here thinking about it. It held my attention but wtf did I just watch?”
