Jason Day wins AT&T Byron Nelson for first PGA Tour victory in five years as Seamus Power finishes in top 20

Jason Day tapped in for birdie at the 18th hole to polish off a nine-under 62 and win the AT&T Byron Nelson on Sunday in McKinney, Texas.

After starting the day two shots off the pace, the former world number one from Australia captured his first PGA Tour title in five years and eight days.

Seamus Power ended the tournament with a fine seven-under 64 to get to 16 under and finish inside the top 20 in a share of 19th place.

"For some reason, I just thought that I was going to win the tournament," Day said. "It's easy to say that now because I won it, but that's just, for some reason I just had this sort of calmness about it."

Day broke through a crowded pack atop the leaderboard with a nine-birdie, bogey-free performance in the final round at TPC Craig Ranch to finish 23-under.

"To be honest, I was very close to calling it quits. I never told my wife that, but I was okay with it, just because it was a very stressful part
