Netflix fans hit out at 'weird' and 'unnecessary' scene in new Christmas film

Netflix's latest Christmas film has caused quite the stir online with some viewers saying they have been left 'disturbed' over one scene in particular. Family Switch, starring Jennifer Garner and Ed Helms, was initially tipped as this generation's 'Freaky Friday'.

The film, which was released on Friday December 1, follows the Walker family who are feeling rather disconnected approaching the festive period. During a trip to a planetarium, the family - parents Jess and Bill (Garner and Helms) and their children CC and Wyatt (Emma Myers and Brady Noon) - are struck by a cosmic blast.

It results in them swapping bodies; the mum is now the daughter and the dad is now the son, and vice versa. The film sees them navigate challenges in each other's lives and gain a better understanding of each other.

Some have branded the film 'adorable,' with many viewers praising the cast's performance. But others pointed out one scene which was just plain 'weird' and 'unnecessary'.

The scene in question sees CC and Wyatt in their parents' bodies when mum Jess - who is technically CC - has a group of friends over. One of her friends reckons a couple should kiss at least 12 times a day to keep their relationship going.

The group then prompts married couple Jess and Bill - who, let's not forget, are actually teenage siblings CC and Wyatt - to kiss. Wyatt, in the body of dad Bill, isn't keen on the idea of the two kissing - for obvious reasons.
