Netflix drops first trailer for new apocalyptic thriller starring Julia Roberts produced by Barack Obama
Netflix has released its first full trailer for latest apocalyptic thriller Leave The World Behind, starring Julia Roberts.
The Academy Award winner, 55, plays Amanda, whose family holiday at a luxurious property is disrupted by strangers seeking refuge from a cyberattack. It stars Ethan Hawke as Amanda's husband Clay and Charlie Evans and Farrah Mackenzie as their children Archie and Rose.
The strangers - G.H, played by Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali and his daughter Ruth, portrayed by Myha’la - know that disaster is looming, as their surroundings become more and more terrifying by the second. The two families must come to terms with their place in their crumbling world and accept that soon, nothing will be the same again.

Leave The World Behind, written and directed by Mr Robots' Sam Esmail, is based on the bestselling 2020 novel of the same name by Rumaan Alam, who also serves as executive producer alongside Barack and Michelle Obama, Tonia Davis, Daniel M. Stillman, and Nick Krishnamurthy.
The almost two-and-a-half minute trailer begins with Amanda telling husband Clay she'd booked a last-minute getaway for the weekend as she packs a suitcase. The family unwind at the beautiful property while the kids jump into the pool. "Oh this is nice... The kids look so happy," Clay sighs.
But it all starts to go wrong when the TV won't work and the WiFi cuts out. Then comes an ominous knock on the front door. The family answers the door to G.H and Ruth, who claim the house is theirs.
