Netflix has confirmed the future of one of its popular animated fantasy shows.

Disenchantment, the brainchild of The Simpson's creator Matt Groening and Josh Weinstein, will be finishing with its fifth season, the streaming giant confirmed in a tweet. Set in the medieval fantasy kingdom of Dreamland, the series follows rebellious princess Bean (Abbi Jacobson), her elf companion Elfo (Nat Faxon), and her destructive personal demon Luci (Eric Andre).

In a tweet, the official Disenchantment account said: "HEAR YE! HEAR YE! THE FINAL SEASON OF DISENCHANTMENT IS AMONG US! Season 5 premieres on September 1st, only on Netflix. Please enjoy our Final Teaser as we rally momentum for Bean's shocking conclusion! More to come soon..."

@ADragonDemands said: "…I honestly thought we’d get season 6" and @kmlh444 said: "i want to cry that it is the end but this is my comfort show".

Weinstein reassured that all loose ends were tied up as they knew the fifth season would be its last. He wrote
