Neil Warnock plots Aberdeen FC free transfers as he reveals mega target list on his desk

Neil Warnock admits Aberdeen are keeping tabs on the free agent market with the club already offered up to FORTY names.

The interim Pittodrie gaffer - who has replaced the axed Barry Robson for the rest of the current campaign - has already brought a familiar face to the Reds in the shape of experienced Junior Hoilett. The Canada international has worked with Warnock at numerous clubs over the years and after leaving Vancouver Whitecaps, he swooped quickly for another reunion.

However, the Dons boss has revealed if no free agents are better than what he has in the building, or will improve his squad, he will look to give the young rising stars in the Under-18s squad the chance to shine for the Aberdeen top team. Names continue to be put to the Dons gaffer and he will keep tabs on anyone that can aid their push up the table. Asked if he is still looking at the free agent market, Warnock told the P&J: “We are. I must have been offered 35 to 40 players. You can look at them and get a feeling.

“But, for example, is a lad I’m looking at better than [Jack] Milne or some of the other young lads? And I don’t think they are really.

“So I’m better off giving these lads an opportunity, if that’s what happens, while I’m here. And that’s what I intend to do.”

Warnock is keeping a close eye on the youngsters at the club and insists he is not afraid to dip into the U-18s squad to aid his top team. He added: “I’m going to watch the U-18s and I’ve been told there might be a couple of players that might be of interest. I’m not afraid to use these players.”
