Neil Lennon senses Celtic will pull off a transfer trick for Ange Postecoglou to taste Champions League success

Neil Lennon reckons it's the Champions League where Celtic will look to take their next big steps under Ange Postecoglou.

The Greek-Aussie boss is closing in on a Treble with the League Cup and Premiership trophies already banked, a Scottish Cup final win over Championship side Inverness CT standing between him and that impressive feat. Lennon was the last Celtic boss to win the clean sweep of major Scottish trophies and knows how big an achievement it is.

He doesn't expect Postecoglou to stand still though, instead expecting a busy summer to try to improve for the elite European group stage kicking off again in September. Last term's campaign saw them pick up just two points in Group F alongside Real Madrid, RB Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk, and Lennon thinks that strong performance is needed. He told talkSPORT: "I think he will look to strengthen the squad. I think a few will be leaving, maybe looking to try to balance the books that way.

"But if he does get over the line with the Treble which would be a great success for him, you have got to look at participating strongly in the Champions League. He will want to do that.

"They have a good nucleus of a squad but you seen the results in the Champions League, they were a little short. I think he will add a bit of physicality and a bit of quality to that."
