Neighbours left stunned after men caught on camera carrying out 'strange' thefts on Greater Manchester street

Neighbours are appealing for information after two men were caught on camera ‘stealing’ hanging flower baskets in Trafford.

In footage shared with the Manchester Evening News, two men can be seen walking down Stamford Street in Old Trafford at around 9.10pm, before they split off. One man can be seen walking into a front garden, before spending around 30 seconds removing the hanging basket from outside the house.

It was later discovered that another neighbour had been targeted by the other man. Neither of the men were known to either neighbours. The footage has since been shared on Facebook with the hope of raising awareness of the bizarre behaviour.

One neighbour, who asked to remain anonymous, said: “On October 8 my neighbour was asking people if anyone had seen her basket being robbed. She noticed I had a doorbell camera and asked me if I’d managed to capture footage into her garden.

“My camera doesn’t cover her garden, but it was when I was looking over it I realised mine had gone too. You can see one go towards her garden and the other comes into my garden and takes it.

“Two of us have got baskets on the outside, and both of them have got taken. That’s why I shared it on the Facebook group. I’ve not seen the person before, so with sharing the footage, I can see if more people have been affected.
