'Neighbour from hell' played music late at night, removed next door's CCTV camera and damaged car

A woman branded a "neighbour from hell " who repeatedly played loud music late at night, cut cables to her neighbour's CCTV system and damaged her car has narrowly avoided returning to prison.

Joanne Bailey, 51 was slapped with an injunction in 2019 in a bid to curb her "anti-social behaviour" towards a woman living next door to her in Lancashire. However, she repeatedly breached it, being handed two suspended sentences in 2019 before being jailed in 2020.

After a short time in prison, she continued to generate complaints from her neighbours and was again locked up in May of the same year.

She received another suspended sentence three months later before being jailed again in October 2021, and got another suspended sentence in April.

Bailey as now been hauled before the courts again after Lancaster City Council brought forward a contempt of court complaint reports Lancs Live.

The court heard the court order has been extended to 2025 and relates to her "abusive and offensive behaviour; threatening or intimidating language; throwing stones or other items or missiles at her neighbour’s property or vehicle; damaging her neighbour Ms Weiz’s house or vehicle; and noise nuisance audible outside her property."

At Lancaster County Court, Bailey admitted breaching the injunction eight times in April, May and July. She admitted, in April, to playing music between 8.20pm and 10.00pm, causing damage to Ms Wiez’s car - which was parked on the road outside her home - and altering the height of boundary fencing panels between the two houses.

The court heard this happened on the day she had been given a suspended sentence.
