Need for Speed: Leak reveals potential launch delay

Need For Speed fans might be furious this week as a leak of a potential delay has surfaced.

This is after EA confirmed that the launch of the game would be delayed into 2022, as the developer Criterion was set to assist DICE with the development of Battlefield 6.

Fans of the Need for Speed franchise, who have endured flop after a stinker, may find this to be infuriating. The reboot and Payback, two of the three games that Ghost Games created, all garnered average reviews.

It is quite unfortunate that it seems like there could be a further delay, maybe there’s no need for speed? Let’s find out.

Prominent leaker Tom Henderson posted about the launch being slightly delayed, this is after someone asked Tom “what about Need for Speed supposedly coming this November?” we’ll get more updates on this as we keep an eye on socials.

I've actually heard that the behind-closed-doors presentation for it has been pushed back slightly. Not sure why/when but will update when I know more. It was meant to be revealed this month (could still be yet though)

The most recent release, Need for Speed Heat, however, received more positive reviews. Heat was an upgrade over most of its PS4 predecessors, and a positive step forward for Criterion, even though we eventually found it to be monotonous. Fans will have to wait to find out what awaits them in 2022 on the studio’s racetrack.

Numerous Need for Speed games that could not match prior triumphs, such as 2010’s Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, or any of the older releases like Underground or Most Wanted, is possibly to blame for the franchise’s general downturn.
