Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit gets Unreal Engine 5 treatment & it's amazing

YouTuber David Kerekes has given Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit a beautiful engine remake using the Unreal Engine 5.

Safe to say, it looks absolutely incredible.

The latest instalment of the new Need for Speed is certainly being kept secret by developers at Criterion Games.

Aside from recently leaked, unconfirmed footage, gaming fans know very little about a new release that was teased for this year.

Some believe that the game’s release date has been pushed back because of a next-gen console switch, with others speculating that the game is nearly ready for release.

David Kerekes has taken matters into his own hands, however, showing an impressive remake of Hot Pursuit, where he has recreated both Hometown and Atlantica levels.

David named both of these levels as the “two current working levels,” possibly teasing more that aren’t quite playable yet.

Unfortunately for gaming fans, this remake isn’t available for download.

I’m sure most Need for Speed fanatics would love to get their hands on a copy as improvements to the lighting, shadows and reflection make it extremely attractive.

Fans chimed in to give their instant reaction to the incredible remake, with one user named La Roux Vermeulen saying: “Perfect way to inject some life back into these classic games. Keeping that original retro aesthetic by design, but making it look modern with that lighting. Perfection.”

No one knows when we are going to be blessed with the latest instalment of the Need for Speed series, but if this remake was available to play, it would certainly do!

This comes only two weeks after YouTuber Ivan Novozhilov remade Need for Speed: Underground 2 in Unreal Engine 4.
