The San Antonio Spurs are still alive, defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 118-91 on Thursday to force a decisive Game 7 of the Western Conference finals on Saturday.
A disastrous third quarter for Oklahoma City led to an easy victory for San Antonio. The Spurs outscored the Thunder 32-13 in that frame, going on a 20-0 run at one point. It was San Antonio's second 20-0 run this postseason — rest of the NBA has 2 such runs this postseason, according to ESPN Research. The Thunder never led in Game 6.
After struggling in Game 5, Victor Wembanyama had 28 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, pacing the Spurs from the start. Dylan Harper added 17 points off the bench, while Stephon Castle had 17 points, nine assists and five rebounds.
Reigning two-time MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 15 points on 6-of-18 shooting. Gilgeous-Alexander shot 40% or worse in four straight games, his longest such streak since the 2021-22 season (regular season and playoffs).
Game 7 will be in Oklahoma City on Saturday.
