Napoli star Victor Osimhen drops hint about his future amid Manchester United transfer interest

Striker Victor Osimhen has hinted that he wants to stay at Napoli this summer amid ongoing interest from Manchester United in his signature.

United first identified the Nigerian international as a concrete target as far back as last November and have been monitoring him ever since. Osimhen is currently considered one of the hottest properties in European football after a stellar 2022/23 campaign in Italy.

Helping Napoli scoop their first Serie A title in more than 30 years, the 24-year-old plundered 31 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions, as well as registering five assists. He has made tremendous progress since joining the Italian giants from Lille in 2020, scoring 59 goals in 101 appearances.

As a result of his impressive exploits in front of goal, the striker is already being linked with a collection of big-name clubs this summer, including the likes of United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain. However, Osimhen has all but confirmed that he has no intentions of leaving Stadio Diego Armando Maradona anytime soon.

"I'm so proud that I am actually a Scudetto winner, for me, it's a huge one," Osimhen told Soccernet. "Whatever honour that comes after this, I will welcome it.

"And I am really working hard to make sure, and now I am addicted to trophies because now the Scudetto is my first trophy as a pro. Now I'm addicted, and I can't wait for the new season to come.

"There's no better place to be than this place. I am so happy I made the right choice by coming here. And achieving this kind of greatness with the Neapolitans is something that I will wake up and always smile about.

"My children's children will come into this world and realise that their father has done something amazing."
