Napoli president de Laurentiis names asking ‘price’ for Osimhen transfer

Napoli president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, has revealed that the Serie A club will only sell star striker, Victor Osimhen, for ‘more than an indecent offer’ this summer.

A host of top European clubs Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with a summer transfer to sign Osimhen at different times.

Transfermarkt lists Osimhen as the fourth most valuable player in the world with a market value of €120m.

Speaking ahead of the 2023/2024 season, de Laurentiis said it is likely that Osimhen continues with Napoli except a tempting offer comes for the Nigerian talisman.

“We will see Victor Osimhen wearing our new shirt next season, that is for sure,” de Laurentiis said as quoted by Italian journalist Fabrizo Romano.

“Then, if a ‘more than indecent proposal arrives, we will move on and find another top talent as we did with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen.”

Osimhen’s 26 goals and five assists in 32 Serie A appearances during the 2022/23 season helped Napoli clinch their very first Scudetto in 33 years (since 1990).

The 24-year-old contributed a further five goals in the UEFA Champions League, taking his tally for the just-concluded campaign to 31 goals in 39 matches across all competitions.

A deal for Osimhen this summer is likely to be complicated due to Napoli president, de Laurentiis’ valuation of a staggering €180m he had hinted in previous times.
