Napoli issue Victor Osimhen warning amid Manchester United transfer interest

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has hinted that it will take a big-money bid for the Italian club to even consider selling Manchester United transfer target Victor Osimhen.

The striker, who continued his excellent run of form by scoring the opener in Napoli's 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Tuesday night, is on United's radar ahead of the summer. As reported by the Manchester Evening News back in November, Osimhen is on the club's list of targets as they draw up plans to recruit a new striker ahead of next season.

The Nigerian international, 24, is widely considered as one of the most exciting strikers in European football, highlighted by his tally of 20 goals in just 24 appearances in all competitions this season. He has also chipped in with a respectable four assists, meaning, of course, he has chalked up 24 direct goal contributions in as many games this term.

Osimhen's exploits in Italy have attracted the attentions of a wealth of big-name European clubs, including United, who are set to prioritise the addition of a new goal-getter this summer. However, Napoli chief De Laurentiis is confident that the former Lille ace will stay at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

"I am very good at making contracts, so when they come to me, they are blocked, so keeping them here won't be difficult," De Laurentiis told TNT Sports. "However, never say never.

"Sometimes there are offers you can't refuse, so you never know. To me, we'll see them shine for a long time."
