Naive Michael Beale needs Rangers transfer receipts as new signings will only be good for refunds - Hotline

Ninety-six minutes into the season and Rangers new signings are already being written off after a miserable opening day defeat at Kilmarnock. Meanwhile Celtic raise the Premiership flag before beating Ross County 4-2 - and some Hoops fans are still not happy.

Welcome to the new Premiership season folks! First up on the HotlineAndrew Adams, Kirkcaldy , who said: “If Michael Beale thinks Cyriel Dessers and Abdallah Sima are good enough to play for Rangers, we're stuck behind the eight ball. We’ve signed too many players at once, that takes a long time to gel and methinks it's going to be a long hard season, I really hope I'm wrong.”

Gary Stevenson, Newtonhill, said: “A word of warning to the new signings at Rangers; skill alone does not win matches. Only when work rate is added do you have a winning side. It's going to be a long season unless they learn quickly.” Tim Gibbens emailed: “Did Michael Beale keep the receipts for his new signings? If so, he should be able to get a full £12m refund if he returns them all within the next 30 days.”

And Michael O’Leary, Glasgow, said: “I see six of Rangers’ new signings, all part of the Beale Revolution we keep hearing about, were involved in that shambolic performance at Kilmarnock. Unless there is a massive transformation in the next 10 days I can see Rangers missing out on the Champions League. They might have to sell some of the superstars they have just bought.”

Kevin Kean, Inchinnan, blasted: “Beale's naivety was laid bare. He buys four strikers, all too similar, and has no idea how to deploy them. No width because none of them play there, Borna Barisic is still passing backwards so wasn't seen in a forward position, no cohesion or shape. Servette in the Champions League
