Nacho Novo in management exit as Rangers hero leaves 'boys in green' after just ONE MONTH

Rangers hero Nacho Novo has left his first managerial post after just over a month in the hot seat.

The Spaniard took over as boss of Lexington SC - nicknamed the 'boys in green' - in September having spent a spell as assistant coach and under-23s boss for the American side while working alongside Sam Stockley. The former Colchester defender was made sporting director but stepped aside to allow the former Rangers star a shot at management.

But just four weeks later, the 44-year-old has decided to step away from his role as head coach after a poor start to his tenure. He wrote on Instagram: "Well today I said bye to Lexington. It was a good season. Thanks to all the fans and players. Good luck for next season." Novo failed to win any of his five games in charge - losing two and drawing three for the third tier side.

He followed that up sharing an image of him celebrating a goal from his Rangers playing days, Novo added: "Thanks everyone for your support. I will be back."
