Mum divides opinion after saying skirts should be banned from schools in viral TikTok

A mum who said she thinks skirts should be banned from schools has triggered a debate after posting her controversial view on TikTok.

Alexandra, who uses the handle @theogrocknrollmom, has racked up over one million views and thousands of comments before turning them off on the video sharing app after saying that children should be made to wear trousers to secondary school.

In the video, she 'urges' parents to tell their child's secondary school they don't feel comfortable with their child wearing a skirt, saying she 'hates the fact that girls are being sexualised at such a young age'.

"I know people will think that I've absolutely lost the plot, but I honestly think schools should ban skirts as part of the uniform full-stop," she says in the video, which has over 76,000 likes.

Alexandra goes on to explain that she lives near a secondary school, and sees 'hundreds' of girls go to school every morning. "90 per cent of those girls roll up their skirts at the waist before they enter the school gates," she says.

"Those girls will leave home looking nice and smart, wearing their school uniform properly, but they meet their friends at the gate, and because they have it rolled up, they will roll it up too because they don't want to stick out.

"The amount of girls I have seen walk past my bedroom window with their bums out and literally clearly being able to see their underwear is absolutely insane."

She goes on to say that because children at school are not supervised all the time 'anything can happen'.

"Any boy can just walk over, touch their private parts or do something inappropriate to them without anybody
