Mum accused of murdering son, 5, denies cover-up, telling jury she doesn't remember what happened - but that she didn't beat him

A mum accused of murdering her five-year-old son has denied covering up 'what she had done' - and told a jury she 'doesn't remember' what happened. Claire Scanlon, 38, is alleged to have murdered son Dylan on December 31, 2021.

The five-year-old was found at their home in Limeside, Oldham, with 64 separate injuries to his head and body, jurors have previously heard. The cause of his death, the court has heard, was found to be mirtazapine toxicity.

A post mortem and toxicology report, jurors have been told, found Dylan had 9,951 micrograms of the antidepressant per litre of blood in his system. The drug had been prescribed to his mother.

"No," Ms Scanlon replied. "Did you hear a bang or a thud?," she was asked.

"I don't remember," Ms Scanlon said. "Do you have any idea how he got that black eye?," Ms Wilding asked.

"He fell down the step," Ms Scanlon said. She said she didn't know when he had 'fallen down the step', and said she 'didn’t know' if she saw him fall.

"How did you
