MUFC ready to make "concrete offer" to sign "magnificent" £35m gem, it's exciting news - opinion

Ajax’s 20-year-old sensation Jurrien Timber is awaiting an agreed deal from Manchester United.

That is according to a report from Alex Turk, who took to his personal Twitter account to share some new developments he had learned around Manchester United’s interest in signing Timber.

Turk stated: “Learnt a couple of Jurrien Timber tidbits this morning. It’s NOT done. But told Timber’s camp are now awaiting an agreed deal, suggesting personal terms are no problem. United expected to formalise concrete offer to Ajax now Erik ten Hag has officially started as manager.”

Previous reports have suggested the defender will cost in the region of £35m.

The latest news surrounding Timber is entirely positive from a United perspective – despite Turk emphasising that the deal is by no means done.

Developments around the transfer are clearly being made day by day, with Ten Hag obviously interested in bringing in a player that he knows well and that can help to awaken the sleeping giant that is Manchester United.

Turk suggested that “personal terms are no problem”, with United now best positioned to acquire the young Dutch starlet now that Ten Hag has officially begun his tenure as manager.

It’s no wonder why the 52-year-old is so keen on signing Timber, someone dubbed “magnificent” by talent scout Jacek Kulig.

The Ajax star is elite in possession, ranking third in the whole Eredivisie for accurate passes per 90, with an average of 73.1, with his pass completion rate sitting at a cool 94.7%.

His average of 8.02 passes into the final third are line-breaking and provide further substantiation for how a 20-year-old central defender has managed to rack up five attacking returns in the form of three goals and two assists.
