Celtic transfer rumblings as the club starts to flex it's financial muscle

There are plenty of transfer rumours doing the rounds at the moment, but you know the old saying?

There’s no smoke without fire.

In the aftermath of Daizen Maeda’s permanent signature being announced, it kooks like it’s only a matter of time before Felipe Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers become permanent signings.

Both players signatures are rumoured to be around the £6.5 million mark, which would come to a total outlay of £13 million.

Whatever you might say about Michael Nicholson’s tenure to date, he doesn’t seem to be shirking his responsibilities when it comes to player signatures.

That bodes well for the summer window.

There is a rumour going around that Celtic may re-ignite their interest in Manchester City’s Ko Itakura. There was talk last season of him joining the club, but it never came to fruition.

Itakura instead went out on loan to Schalke 04 who were playing in Bundesliga 2. In February, Itakura announced he was happy at Schalke and wanted to make his move permanent.

Itakura looks like the ideal replacement for the departed Nir Bitton as he can play at centre back or as a defensive midfielder.

Ange Postecoglu also identified Bodo/Glimt’s Ola Solbakken as a player he was interested in, so I’ll be curious to see if this one is pursued in the upcoming transfer window.

Roma are also interested in his signing and this obviously stems from his performances against them in the Conference League.

It’s been reported that Ange will be given £30 million in total to spend in this summer’s transfer window.

When you look at that in comparison to the rumours
