Motorists warned of ‘condensation epidemic’ as unsettled weather set to sweep UK

Drivers across the UK have been advised to keep condensation in their vehicles under control as conditions are set to become more unstable.

Car windows are especially susceptible to condensation during these weather periods, making it more difficult for drivers to see out of their windows properly. This also has the added knock-on effect of potentially putting drivers at risk of facing fines or even losing their licence outright.

Mark Tongue, co-founder of vehicle lease firm Select Car Leasing, warned that motorists who attempt to drive before the fog on their window has cleared up could risk a £100 on-the-spot fine and three points on their licence. If the fogging leads to an accident, the fine can skyrocket up to £2,500.

Mr Tongue explains: “The UK’s wash-out, humid summer has created the perfect conditions for car condensation.

“Don’t just rely on your car’s heating and cooling fan to rid condensation - you need to use your vehicle’s air conditioning system. The air
