Manchester temperature will 'feel like' 32C after Storm Lillian as hot weather hits

A mini ‘heatwave’ will hit the UK next week following Storm Lillian. Temperatures are set to reach the high 20s and it will even ‘feel like’ 32C in Greater Manchester.

But the hot weather isn’t likely to arrive in time for the bank holiday weekend. Storm Lillian is set to batter the north on Friday morning, bringing strong winds and heavy rain. A yellow weather warning for wind has been issued for the Met Office covering the whole of the North of England and some parts of North Wales.

Gusts of up to 80mph are forecast over the course of Friday morning, along with heavy rain. The Met Office warns that this could “lead to disruption to travel and infrastructure”. The warning is in place until 11am on Friday.

Conditions expected to remain cool over the weekend with highs of just 17C forecast. It will be overcast with the odd shower. But the weather is set to make a drastic turn on Wednesday as hot air arrives from Europe.

According to Net Weather, Manchester will see highs of 24C on Thursday August 29, but it will feel much hotter - more like 32C. A ‘feels like’ temperature takes into account factors such as humidity and wind speed, so gives an indication of how the temperature will feel.

On Friday August 30 it will be a pleasant 22C for most of the day in Manchester, remaining warm well into the evening. Temperatures will cool slightly into the weekend, but will remain warm with highs of 20C.
