Motherwell v Celtic: Teams are revealed ahead of the big Premiership kick-off

Motherwell and Celtic have revealed their teams ahead of the Premiership clash at Fir Park this lunchtime.

Steelmen boss Stuart Kettlewell kept faith with the same side that lost 1-0 to Rangers at Ibrox last Sunday.

However, there was a return to the bench for Pape Souare, while Connor Wilkinson also continued his return from injury.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has made one change to the side that beat Livingston 3-0 last weekend, with Hyungjan Yan replacing James Forrest, who dropped down to the bench.

Motherwell are looking to continue a rich vein of form that has seen them receive plenty of plaudits for their performances in narrow 1-0 defeats against Rangers and St Mirren, but will have their work cut-out against the defending Premiership champions.

The last time they managed to beat the Glasgow giants at Fir Park was back in 2013 when Michael Higdon netted the clincher in a 2-1 win.

Celtic will, of course, be looking to stretch their lead over St Mirren at the top of the table, with five wins and a draw from their six games so far.

But Motherwell dropped down to fourth after their Ibrox defeat and will be looking to try and get closer to St Mirren.

The last time these sides met was at Celtic Park back in April, when a Kevin van Veen strike earned a 1-1 draw against Ange Postecoglou's then-side.

MOTHERWELL: Kelly, O'Donnell, McGinn, Mugabi, Casey, Spencer, Slattery, Miller, Spittal, Paton, Bair.

Subs: Oxborough (GK), Gent, Zdravkovski, Shaw, Blaney, L. Ross, M. Ross, Souare, Wilkinson.

CELTIC: Bain, Johnston, Lagerbielke, Scales, Taylor, McGregor, O'Riley, Hatate, Yang, Maeda, Kyogo.

Subs: Siegrist (GK), Williams, Palma, Turnbull, Holm, Oh, Iwata, Forrest, Ralston.

Referee: Willie Collum.
