Motherwell star pinpoints two key people behind her Fir Park move

London Pollard says Motherwell head coach Paul Brownlie and assistant Leanne Crichton have proven why they were key to her joining Motherwell.

The attacker scored for Scotland U19s in their match with Wales earlier this month and she’s viewed as a promising talent at Fir Park.

Coming through at Cove Rangers, the teenager made her name at SWPL 1 level in 2020 with Forfar Farmington. She netted a double against the Women of Steel in a 4-2 win in October 2020.

She has since been with Celtic and Partick Thistle, before joining Brownlie's side in November. Motherwell are next in action against Aberdeen this Sunday.

Pollard says boss Brownlie and Crichton - who is a former Scotland international and also a player at Fir Park - have been big influences on her time in Lanarkshire so far.

She said: “Leanne Crichton and Paul Brownlie influenced my signing to be honest. She’s an international player and I’m delighted to learn from her everyday on and off the pitch.

"Paul Brownlie knows the Scotland setup inside out. His training methods are spot on to succeed in women’s football on the highest level.

“As a child, you always dream to play at the highest level. My journey was quite unusual due to external circumstances.

"But I always had the support of my father and brothers to get to where I am now and it’s only the beginning.”
