Motherwell hero Mika Biereth was 'blowing out his a***' but happy to help earn a point

Mika Biereth admits he was ‘blowing out my a***’ during Motherwell’s 3-3 draw at home to Ross County on Saturday, but was just happy to help the team.

Biereth made his first appearance off the bench in 61 minutes of the comeback draw, his first game since being crocked in a 1-0 Viaplay Cup defeat to St Mirren on August 19.

He has been back in London going through rehab with Arsenal, and watched games from afar, insisting he couldn’t believe Motherwell were on a run of four straight defeats.

Biereth says he wanted to come back sooner, but was told to stay put by medics at the Emirates, and now wants to help Motherwell climb the Premiership table.

Mika, who netted his second goal of the season from the spot during the 3-3 draw, said: “I was blowing out of my a*** after about 20 minutes! I think I had two sessions up here, two sessions with the team down at Arsenal, so four sessions of actual training and I’m definitely not 100 per cent, if you want to put it like that.

“We have a lot of games coming up, so I’m pretty sure I’ll get up to speed pretty quickly.

“That was more than I was expecting, I was expecting 15-20 minutes in the legs and then come off it, safe.

“But it was a bonus, a goal and an assist, and just helping the lads get a point out there, which I think is the most important thing.

“For a club like Motherwell – no disrespect to Ross County – at home, I think it needs to be three points.

“I can accept being happy with 3-3 given the position we were in, but I wanted the fourth one. I think it could easily have been a win.”
