Motherwell appoint fashion firm chief executive Kyrk MacMillan as new chairman in boardroom shake-up
Motherwell have appointed fashion firm chief executive Kyrk Macmillan as the chairman of their refreshed board.
The 33-year-old joins Grant Jarvie and Greg Anderson in being added to the club's now six-strong board.
Macmillan was recently appointed chief executive of Bee Inspired, a successful fashion brand founded by former St Mirren players Steven Robb and Mark Corcoran.
Originally from East Kilbride, Macmillan is a Motherwell fan who previously held a chief executive role in a Danish fashion firm, where he was named one of the top three young business people in the country.
The three new board members were appointed following a joint recruitment process between the Well Society, the fan-run majority shareholder, and chief executive Brian Caldwell.
Macmillan described his appointment as a "true honour and privilege".
"I have had the fortune of building relationships with the Well Society board members, and we share a common vision of ensuring close collaboration between the club and Society, building on core values of transparency, community and integrity," he said.
"The Well Society elections and the publication of the vision document - 'Our Club, Our Future' - has shown that we have an incredibly skilled and energised community, and we must ensure we provide a platform and culture of unity, and which brings that to fruition."
Anderson, a digital marketing and events chief executive, was recently elected to the Well Society board.
Professor Jarvie is director of academy sport at the University of Edinburgh and has held a number of roles in the football sector, including working with clubs including Barcelona and examining the role of football in Scottish communities.
