Morning event set to be added to WrestleMania weekend
WrestleMania weekend is set to get even busier with reports of WWE hosting a Saturday morning event to the weekend’s schedule.
With the big event taking over two nights on 2and 3 of April, plus the weekend’s Hall of Fame festivities and Raw and SmackDown shows, there’s already a plethora of action for fans to take in over the week.
However, new reports suggest that WWE is set to host an additional event on the Saturday morning. With WrestleVotes claiming that the NXT Stand and Deliver show is set for a 11 am start on April 2nd.
NXT TakeOver Stand & Deliver is scheduled for Saturday morning April 2nd from the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Local start time of 11am. Long day for fans who will attend Mania that night as well.
In 2021 the NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver show was held during WrestleMania week, across two nights on the Tuesday and Wednesday before WWE’s big shows at the weekend.
Since then, NXT has been revamped into the colourful and more youthful orientated NXT 2.0. A change WWE seem to be emphasising with the start time of their Stand and Deliver offering in 2022.
The tweet also uses the term ‘TakeOver’ a label that hasn’t been used by NXT since it was rebranded and one that fans believed was very much left in the past and the black and gold era of the brand. Instead, NXT 2.0 has been using stand-alone names for their bigger shows like New Year’s Evil and last night’s St Vengeance Day.
At last night’s St Vengeance Day show Bron Breakker retained his NXT Championship with a win over Santos Esobar, while The Creed Brothers defeated MSK to win the 2022 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. There were also wins for Carmelo Hayes, Pete Dunne and Toxic Attraction.
