The platform, which was born in the era of "Web 2.0", WAP, and MP3 ringtones, remains one of the most respected sources of sporting news in South Africa.  

It's been more than 14 years since News24 Sport first made its mark on the local sports landscape, building a digital community of ardent and outspoken sports fans who regularly debate about diski, rugger, cricket, and a range of hot topics beyond the pitch.

Following the launch of the subscription package in 2020, News24 Sport elevated its offering towards distinctive, in-depth content with an emphasis on the quality of its stories.  

According to News24 Sport editor Lloyd Burnard, the team isn't interested in churning boring, generic news pieces - and there's no room for clickbait or sensationalism either.  

"We're very deliberate about providing our readers with content that is worth their subscription; that's worth the money that they pay," he says.
